Apple's Public Beta for iOS 10.2 is now available; update includes "TV" app to find streaming video

Apple released the iOS 10.2 public beta yesterday, and with the release comes a  new app called "TV." Apple discussed this app during the event it held last month to unveil the new MacBook Pro. With the Public Beta released, iOS users get the chance to use the app now if they are indeed signed up for the public beta. If you're wondering what "TV" is, it's an app that you would call a one-stop shop for video on iOS. It works with streaming video apps like Hulu, HBO Go and Showtime Anywhere.

Instead of going from app to app to find a video you want to stream, "TV" will give you the opportunity to search and find specific videos. It also will recommend videos for you based on your viewing history. When you see a video on the app that you want to view, click on it and your iDevice will open the appropriate app so you can start streaming it.

The other day we told you about some of the new features available with the beta version of iOS 10.2. There is the new Unicode 9 version of emoji, and the return of Apple Music star ratings to name a couple.

The public beta version of iOS 10.2 is available OTA to any iOS user who has registered first with the public beta program. To register, users need to go to the Apple Beta Software Program (https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/) and sign up for free. Once that is done, go to Settings > General > Software Updateand follow the instructions to install the iOS 10.2 public beta program on your iOS device.
