• HTC Bolt leaks out in live image with full Sprint retail box, likely coming soon

The HTC Bolt - HTC's promising new phone that comes with the latest Android 7 Nougat on board and with no standard, 3.5mm headset jack - seems to be real and indeed coming soon to Sprint in the United States.

An anonymous tipster has sent us pictures of the HTC Bolt in its retail box with Sprint carrier branding and it shows very clearly that we're dealing with a stylish metal phone with Android 7.0, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Important first hands impressions mention that the phone is a bit on the heavy side, but feels good in the hand.

The HTC Bolt will likely soon be official on Sprint

The HTC Bolt has already passed FCC certification, clearing one of the important hurdles before hitting the US market, and earlier leaks revealed that it will be a 5.5-inch phone with a 1080 x 1920-pixel (Full HD) resolution, the powerful (but not latest) Snapdragon 810 system chip and a USB Type-C port for both charging and wired headsets.

All of this paints a picture of an upper mid-range phone rather than an all-out flagship, and the choice of processor is particularly interesting: we don't know of any other recent phone that comes with last year's Snapdragon 810, but it's without a doubt a powerful chip.

Interestingly, we've also heard that the phone will ship with special, HTC BoomSound Adaptive Audio headphones in the box that will connect straight to the USB-C port and will smartly adapt to the type of music you are listening to. We're as curious as you're to hear more about that. The HTC Bolt release date is allegedly set for November 11th, 2016, just a day from now, so stay tuned for more details very soon. Here's a quick look at the specs highlight for the upcoming phone:

    Platform: Android 7.0 Nougat
    Display: 5.5-inch, 1080 x 1920-pixel resolution
Cameras: 16-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera with OIS and 4K video, 8MP front cam
